For the first time since the start of the pandemic, a member of the Regina Police Service has tested positive for COVID-19. The person does not work directly with the public.
Chief, Evan Bray says, “We knew this was inevitable, so we feel educated and well-prepared,” He says they have undertaken the necessary protocols.
The affected employee is away from work for a minimum of 14 days, in accordance with health guidelines. The employee’s work area and any other potentially-involved vehicles or work areas have been sanitized.
Employees who had indirect or direct contact with the individual who tested positive have been advised to self-monitor or self-isolate.
