The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit learned earlier this month that a 16 year old girl in Saskatoon was allegedly sexually assaulted in a hotel room last June. The girl had been interacting with a man on an online chat application during which there had been an exchange of naked pictures. Police were able to identify the accused but he had no fixed address so an arrest warrant was issued.
On September 24th, he was found by North Battleford RCMP and arrested. 63 year old Oakley Blackstar of the North Battleford area is charged with Sexual Assault, Luring a Child to Facilitate an Offense, and Making Explicit Material Available to a Child.
Police are also asking any other young females who have had similar involvement with Blackstar to contact the ICE Unit or their local police. Blackstrap was released from custody on conditions. He is back in Provincial Court October 22nd.
