Every day, more than 70 Canadians are diagnosed with breast cancer.
It’s also the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths amongst Canadian women, but thanks to research, with help from the Canadian Cancer Society, but it’s 5 year survival rate has increased to more than 88 per cent.
The CIBC Run for the Cure is tomorrow, kicking off Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Canadian Cancer Society spokesperson, Dr. Stuart Edmonds, says the run has gone virtual this year because of COVID-19, and because being physically apart can’t stop everyone from coming together as a force for life in the face for breast cancer.
There will be an opening ceremonies online, a high energy warm-up, and performances from Jess Moskaluke and the Barenaked Ladies among others, then it’s your choice what you want to do for the run.
