The Saskatchewan Party says the NDP candidate for Regina-Elphinstone represents, “A risk we can’t afford.” The party says that Meara Conway, identifying herself on Facebook as Meara Alexandra, calls the oil sands an “effing” nightmare period, and opposes the Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain pipeline in a 2018 post. The Sask. Party says she has since deleted the post. The Party says Conway shared a video from Leap Manifesto founder Naomi Klein, supporting the manifesto and rejecting the pipeline. The Sask Party says the NDP must come clean on their support for the Leap Manifesto and answer for the anti-energy comments of the NDP candidate.
Meanwhile, NDP leader Ryan Meili says his party will invest to create more jobs in Saskatchewan healthcare with their health human resource plan. Meili announced this morning in Regina that if elected into government this fall, their plan would put 100 doctors, 150 registered nurses, 300 licensed practical nurses and 500 continuing care assistants onto the frontlines.

Meili says the plan would meet the staffing needs of Saskatchewan’s primary, acute and long-term care systems. It’s part of their platform promise to invest 100 million dollars in staffing and healthcare in Saskatchewan if elected this fall.
