The Ministry of Health had already stated that curling teams from outside the province won’t be allowed to come to Saskatchewan for competition. On Tuesday, Curl Saskatchewan told C-T-V Regina that Saskatchewan teams aren’t able to travel outside the province this year.
However, the competitive curling season can happen within Saskatchewan for Saskatchewan-based teams. A Sask Women’s Curling Tour event starts Friday and runs through the long weekend in Regina. It’s the first time since the Scotties Tournament of Hearts that an organized curling event will take place in the province since the COVID-19 pandemic. The Saskatchewan Men’s Super Series begins next Friday, October 16. The women have done a test event, using the new Curl Sask protocols and guidelines for the sport while the men are doing the same this weekend.
