Today’s candidate profile for the upcoming civic election features Zach Jeffries who is running in Ward 10.
Jeffries is the incumbent in Ward 10 and has served for 8 years. He says he is proud of his work on the Chief Mistawasis Bridge, North Commuter Parkway and the new overpass at McOrmond and college. Jeffries says more recently he has pushed for common sense and consistent speed limits and one of his priorities is to keep people moving in Saskatoon. He would like to see a model based out of Edmonton implemented, that would see 100% of Saskatoon’s traffic lights connected to the traffic grid, currently he says only 50% are.
Jeffries sees a need to be laser focused on taxes and expenses, especially during the pandemic. He supports making sure the financial impact of COVID is dealt with entirely within city hall rather than having it passed to residents.
Jeffries says he has the experience and a record of making things happen for the community, including pushing for recreational facilities in fast growing areas in the city.
Jeffries adds he has the expertise to advocate for more efficiency at city hall, including a project that will see a new computer system replace existing software and applications and ultimately save the city $10 million annually.
