Mayoral candidate Don Atchison says Saskatoon doesn’t have a police problem, it has a crime problem.
And while saying he is against racial profiling, he is 100% in favour of street checks. Atchison feels the Bord of Police Commission has lost its way and points to the four unelected individuals on the board which he suggests are controlling the board overriding the elected individuals.
And Atchison says if he was elected he wouldn’t abdicate his responsibility by relinquishing the position as Chair which is what he says happened with Charlie Clark stating, “The Citizen of Saskatoon expect the Mayor to lead from the front when it comes to safety and security, not from the rear.”
