After numerous calls from concerned family members, residents of King Edward Place, as well as members of the general community to the City of Saskatoon and the Saskatoon Housing Authority, the seniors have water today. SHA employees were reportedly going door to door at the seniors residence with pails of water to help flush toilets and provide drinking water. Urgent messages started to flow Saturday night on the Facebook site Caremongering Saskatoon after seniors from King Edward Place at 530 25th Street East were seen struggling to fill containers of water from a water trailer and take them back to the building. King Edward Place is operated by the Saskatoon Housing Authority and there was a watermain break at nearby Kinsmen Park Friday morning around 7 a.m. Concern escalated Saturday night.
