The Saskatchewan Party leader and Premier-Elect, Scott Moe thanks everyone who took the time to vote in the provincial election, no matter who you voted for. He says their goal is to work for all of Saskatchewan, not just for those who voted for the SaskParty. This, after the Buffalo Party posted second place showing in four ridings that are known as SaskParty supporters.
Moe mentioned in his victory speech on Monday night that there are sentiments of the Buffalo Party he agrees with, but he doesn’t support the idea of separating from the rest of Canada. The Buffalo Party supports this idea, and most of their votes came from areas that are more involved in the oil and gas industry, like Estevan, Cypress Hills, Cannington and Kindersley. Moe understands there are frustrations people are facing and he says his government will work to represent them.
He expects over the next few days he won’t be in the public eye because it’s time to get to work behind the scenes. Along with following the results from the mail-in ballots, Moe and his Caucus will be meeting, a new Cabinet will be chosen, planning for the Speech from the Throne will begin and planning the priorities for the fall session.
