Saskatoon’s mayoral candidates will face off in a virtual forum tonight (Thurs), discussing issues that may not be getting the attention that the group Liveable YXE is advocating for. Spokesperson, Murray Gross, explains that the group began in 2016 before the civic election and was revived for this election.
The members are from organizations like Saskatoon Cycles, Walking Saskatoon, Northeast Swale Watchers and Bus Riders of Saskatoon.
The community group defines a liveable city as one that is active, vibrant, accessible, green, walkable and people-friendly.
Gross says the candidates will be asked about their views on how to help vulnerable citizens, climate change, systemic racism and social inequity.
He suggests the event will provide candidates a chance to spell out their vision for the kind of city they want Saskatoon to become. Former city Councillor Tiffany Paulsen is moderating the mayoral debate.
You can access the virtual form at 7 tonight (Thurs) through Liveable YXE’s website or Facebook page.
