At this point, it looks like in the eight closest races in the provincial election, there may be a tie with four wins each.
NDP Leader Ryan Meili announced his win on Wednesday afternoon. The count as of Thursday has him ahead of the SaskParty’s Rylund Hunter by 209 votes in Saskatoon Meewasin, but there are more mail-in ballots and special ballots to count. Hunter has congratulated Meili on his win.
The other three for the NDP potentially would be Saskatoon Eastview where the SaskParty’s Chris Guetette has congratulated Matt Love on his win, and in Saskatoon University where the NDP’s Jennifer Bowes leads Incumbent Eric Olauson by 353 votes. The NDP has declared this a win for them. And in Regina, incumbent Tina Beaudry-Mellor has congratulated the NDP candidate Aleana Young on social media on her win today.
For the SaskParty, Marv Friesen has a 196 vote lead in Saskatoon Riversdale over Ashlee Hicks with a possible 361 ballots yet to count. The SaskParty’s Muhammad Fiaz is ahead of the NDP’s Bhajan Brar in Regina Pasqua by 386 votes but there is still a possible 735 ballots to count.
Incumbent Mark Docherty has won in Regina Coronation Park. He leads the NDP’s Noor Burki by 386 votes with a possible 249 ballots left.
