A man is in Police custody after allegedly pointing a handgun and being restrained by staff at a local business on Friday afternoon.
At approximately 3:13 p.m., Patrol officers were dispatched to a business, in the 3700 block of Diefenbaker Drive, after receiving a report that a man was inside with a firearm.
He had been restrained, by the staff members, after pointing a gun and threatening to cause harm to the staff. Staff members were able to keep the man restrained until Police arrived, where he was taken into custody without further incident.
He was found to be in possession of a .22 calibre handgun and ammunition and was transported to hospital, for non-life threatening injuries, by Medavie Health Services.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
