Two people are facing weapons charges after a Saskatoon Police Guns and Gangs Unit made a traffic stop on Friday evening.
At approximately 5 p.m officers made a traffic stop in a parking lot at 22nd Street and Whitney Avenue as part of a firearms investigation. Police report a 29 year-old man was found to be in possession of a sawed-off rifle that was loaded, a double sided hatchet and ammo. While a 27 year-old woman was found to be in possession of two cans of bear spray.
The 29 year-old man faces charges of:
- Possession of Dangerous Weapon (x2)
- Carry Concealed Weapon
- Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Unauthorized Possession in Motor Vehicle
- Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
- Possession of Weapon Obtained by Commission of Offence
- Prohibited Possession of Firearm
- Prohibited Possession of Ammunition
The 27 year-old woman faces charges of Possession of Dangerous Weapon (x2) and Prohibited Possession of Weapon.
