A program launched in June has now reached over $30,000 in donations from deposit containers for Cosmo Industries.
Spokesperson Ken Gryshuk says almost 700 subscribers have signed up to SKIP The Trip by using Cans4Cosmo.
Subscribers have their cans and bottles picked up by Cosmo workers, and the deposit goes to the community-based organization which helps people with intellectual disabilities.
Cans4Cosmo has netted 3,200 bags of cans, jugs and cartons so far as well as 19,100 wine bottles and over 7,300 beer bottles.
An annual tax receipt is available to all subscribers .
Pick-ups are every 8 to 10 weeks.
Gryshuk says they are 25 per cent of the way to their goal of 1,000 regular subscribers by the end of next year.
