Joe Biden is the projected winner of the 2020 presidential election after securing Pennsylvania.
Biden moves to 273 electoral votes and has defeated President Trump in the 2020 presidential election after winning Pennsylvania and securing 20 electoral votes, according to projections by multiple sources. The threshold to win is 270 electoral votes. In a victory speech on Saturday Biden said “I pledge to be a president who seeks not to divide, but unify. Who doesn’t see red states and blue states, only sees the United States.”
Kamala Harris will become the first female, Black and South Asian American vice president-elect in US history.
However, former President Donald Trump has yet to concede the election. On Friday afternoon, President Trump released a statement that said: “We will pursue this process through every aspect of the law to guarantee the American people have confidence in our government.”
Trump will be the first incumbent president to lose reelection since Republican George H.W. Bush in 1992.
