Saskatoon’s emergency services including the Fire Department, the Police Service and Saskatoon Search and Rescue have fielded 130 calls for storm related assistance as of 11 this morning, helping out people who are stranded.
By 8 this morning (Mon), firefighter had attended 46 incidents – 23 were storm-related, 11 were stranded motorists and fire crews helped to get 7 healthcare workers to hospitals .
Between 11 and early afternoon, the Fire Department responded to 14 incidents, with 7 storm-related calls, and two vehicle fires.
The message is to stay off the streets and avoid any unnecessary travel.
