The most recent quarterly reports on losses of public money within government ministries and Crown corporations shows an employee at SaskTel charged personal items and a cash advance to a SecurTek corporate credit card. It came out to just over $5,360 dollars. The employee failed to submit a credit card statement for payment. The matter was turned over to the RCMP.
SaskPower lost a laptop worth about $2 thousand to an internal theft. Because it was in an area accessible to multiple employees the thief was not identified and the matter was turned over to RCMP.
The Ministry of Corrections and Policing says that four ministry employees used government-owned mobile wireless router devices for non-government purposes. That resulted in overage charges from SaskTel in the amount of nearly $81 hundred. Police have been made aware and the ministry is pursing collection.
