Indian Head’s mayor says businesses are going above and beyond to limit the spread of COVID-19 in his town, but there is still a great deal of concern.
There have been a number of positive cases in the community, about 45 minutes east of Regina, over the last couple of weeks which has people on edge.
Steven Cole says people just have to do what they are being told to do by government officials. He says the most effective way to get the virus under control is to follow those guidelines around physical distancing, washing your hands, and keeping your local contact list small.
There are two outbreaks in the town, one at a long-term care home and one at the bakery. Whether there is a connection between the two is not known. Visitation rights at all long-term care homes and the hospital are currently restricted and all classes are being taught remotely at both the elementary and high school.
Cole adds that restaurants have gone back to pick-up only and some other businesses have shut their doors temporarily.
