Wakaw RCMP are looking for a suspect after an infant was abducted and then safely located.
On Saturday, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Wakaw RCMP received a report of several disturbances that occurred on the One Arrow First Nation. While investigating these officers were advised that a woman had entered a home uninvited, assaulted another woman, and then left with the resident’s 4 month-old son.
The child was located unharmed by his mother at a second home on the One Arrow First Nation. The female suspect had left the residence by the time the child was located. The child was separated from his mother for 30-45 minutes, police say the suspect is known to the victims, and no weapons were seen or used during these incidents.
Over night, officers continued to conduct patrols and follow-up on tips to locate the suspect. However, the suspect has not been located.
An arrest warrant has been issued for the arrest of Tori Sutherland.
She is described as a 26 year-old female with brown eyes, black hair, and a thin build. She is approximately 5 feet, 4 inches (165 cm) tall and weighs 115 to 120 pounds (52 to 54.4 kg).
