The Saskatoon Fire Department was in the South Saskatchewan River outside the city after getting a call about a female on an ice shelf on the river. RCMP made that call just before two o’clock Monday afternoon. The woman had gone into the water after a pet dog, at Furdale Dog Park. She then floated down the river. The female was taken into the rescue boat and transported to a waiting ambulance. The dog eventually made its way to shore.
