Tuesday evening, just before 9 o’clock, Shellbrook RCMP received a call to assist local EMS with an unconscious man outside of a residence on the Mistawasis First Nation. The man was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS.
Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit North, Prince Albert and Tisdale RCMP Forensic Identification Services, and the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service were called in to assist with the investigation.
The victim is 36-year-old Troy Watson from the Mistawasis First Nation. Next of kin have been notified.
An autopsy is scheduled to take place in Saskatoon Thursday.
Police are asking anyone who may have been in contact with Watson at any time on Tuesday, or who may have information to assist with the investigation, to call Shellbrook RCMP or Crime Stoppers
Residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues.
