News of unconfirmed sightings of a missing now 20 year old Yorkton woman in Edmonton is bittersweet for Mekayla Bali’s family. We reported yesterday (Wed) about the new tips that have come in. She may have been seen in Edmonton earlier this year, but the sightings haven’t been confirmed.

Mekayla disappeared from Yorkton on April 12th of 2016. The search has covered all four western provinces and the U.S. Pacific Northwest.

Mekayla’s mother Paula says she was called earlier this month by a man who claims to have met her daughter in Edmonton in March. She is guarded about the new information because there was a long time lapse between the alleged meeting and reporting it to her. He explained that he didn’t know she was missing.

Bali says she has spoken with both Edmonton police and the RCMP about the supposed sightings. (CJGX)
