Some of the dog owners who utilize the Avalon dog park posted pictures on social media to point out the overflowing garbage cans inside the park. Although the fact that they were overflowing didn’t appear to stop SOME members of the public from adding bags of dog feces to the already significant pile, nor did it stop them from piling it up around the ground.
The City of Saskatoon says they will have to clear snow, due to the snowfall amount received by the city, for employees to be able to access the garbage cans. The area should be cleared by Thursday afternoon in terms of access to the park and emptying the cans, as well as clearing out the build up of garbage left by the public.
Clearing snow in the dog park is considered an out-of-ordinary request and due to the amount of snow crews are trying to clear, it was added to the list of snow clearing priorities.
