$7.8 million dollars in upgrades to facilities and infrastructure in southern Saskatchewan provincial parks are happening in 2019-20 thanks to an investment from the provincial government.
Gene Makowsky, the province’s Minister for Parks, Culture and Sport says “whether coming out for the day or spending the week, our southern provincial parks are popular destinations for families.”
In addition to upgrades of washrooms, docks, day-use facilities and signage, the swimming pool facility will be replaced at Buffalo Pound.
Some of the other upgrades include major road improvements at Echo Valley and boat launch upgrades at Crooked Lake and Moose Mountain along with the completion of boat launch improvement work at Buffalo Pound.
In 2018, Saskatchewan provincial parks saw nearly 4 million visitors.
