The Metis flag has been lowered at Saskatoon City Hall in honour of Elder and Metis Senator Mike Maurice.

Elder Maurice passed away in Saskatoon on Tuesday following a lengthy illness. Elder Maurice, known to many as Moshum Mike, always recognied and encouraged young people to have a voice and was instrumental in many youth and family serving agencies. Senator Maurice also contributed to countless advistory committees, cultural events and city decisions. Mayor Charlie Clark requested the Metis flag be kept at half-mast until Monday morning.
