Regina Police say a 17 year old girl has been returned from Calgary to Regina to face charges of abducting a pre-school child, Assault with a Weapon and Theft of a Motor Vehicle. On November 21st, Regina Police were dispatched to the area of the 21 hundred block of Albert Street for a stolen auto in progress call. A 31 year old woman had given three girls a ride. When the woman stepped out of the car briefly, one of the girls got behind the wheel and tried to drive away. The woman’s four year-old child was inside. It’s alleged the driver tried to run into the woman when she tried to stop the vehicle. Minutes later, the child was abandoned on the street. Two people found the child and called police. The suspect was identified and police learned she had fled to Calgary. She made her first Appearance in Youth Court Tuesday morning .
