Suspicious Vehicle is a Stolen Vehicle
Saskatoon Police netted quite the haul when they responded to a suspicious vehicle call Tuesday night.
The call came in at 10:35 p.m. from Airport Drive and Claypool Drive where they found a man sleeping behind the wheel of a truck. It turns out the vehicle, which was parked on the road, was stolen. As was the license plate on the truck – it actually belonged to a different vehicle. Police say they seized methamphetamine, GHB and a knife from inside the truck. They also located a backpack containing ID documents belonging to others, multiple vehicle registrations and keys. A 28 year old man is facing a variety of weapons, drug and theft charges.
Stolen Vehicle and Evade Police
At 3:10 this morning, patrol officers say they spotted a stolen SUV at 8th Street East and Cumberland Avenue South. A traffic stop was attempted but the driver fled and started driving erratically. The Air Support Unit tracked the SUV to the 300 block of Kingsmere Boulevard where officers in the air watched three people exit the vehicle, outside of an apartment building, and then broke into the building. A woman, aged 32, and two men, aged 28 and 31, were arrested inside the building without incident. A knife was also seized. All three are charged with Break and Enter. The 28 year old man also faces charges of Dangerous Driving, Evade Police, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Carry a Concealed Weapon and Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000.
Suspicious Person; Meat Clever Seized
Saskatoon Police say one man is facing multiple weapons related charges after they answered a call about a suspicious man with a flashlight checking out a house in the 200 block of Avenue V North.
That was around 2 a.m. and patrol officers say when they located a male suspect inside of a detached garage he had a meat cleaver on him. Inside his back pack there was allegedly two more knives and a hatchet.
A 53 year old man from Saskatoon was arrested on outstanding warrants and charged with two new weapons related offences.
