An investigation is underway in Prince Albert following the death of a 30-year-old man who had been arrested by the P-A Police Service.
On December 1, the Prince Albert man was arrested on a Detention Order stemming from The Public Health Act. He spent that night in a police cell, then was transported to Victoria Hospital the next morning for assessment and treatment. Prince Albert Police were informed the man died on December 5. An autopsy was performed December 9th with the death still being investigated by the Saskatchewan Coroners Service as an in-custody death. The Prince Albert Police Service has asked an independent observer be appointed to the case by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety.
