The Saskatchewan NDP has criticized the government for a lack of supports for businesses and employees impacted by the pandemic.
Economy and Jobs Critic Aleana Young says the government is still giving mixed messages which has presented the worst of both worlds where businesses are told to stay open while customers are urged to stay home.
Premier Scott Moe believes programs offered by the federal and provincial governments help businesses operate safely and employees keep jobs during COVID-19.
Moe says the NDP has a different idea in mind. He says their plan is not to tell the customers to stay home but to tell everyone to stay home including the workers in each of those small businesses across the province.
The NDP wants the government to make the Small Business Emergency Payment Program accessible to all small businesses experiencing dramatic falls in revenues among other actions.
