There are three Alberta clippers moving through Saskatchewan between now and Sunday.
Environment Canada meteorologist Terri Lang says the first wave will bring snow through northern Saskatchewan. There is the potential Thursday afternoon for some snow and freezing rain in parts of central Saskatchewan.
“Into this evening we might see some more snow and the winds are forecast to really come up from the northwest, probably mid-evening, and that may cause some really reduced visibilities in snow and blowing snow.”
She suggests anyone with travel plans will want to make sure they check the Highway Hotline first.
Lang says Alberta Clippers move through really fast but they make for, sort-of, a roller coaster.
“People are going to wake up to some really cold temperatures and wind chills again Friday morning but then it’s supposed to warm up again for the weekend. But with another potential for freezing rain and the final one comes through on Sunday so we’ll probably see another blast of wind again on Sunday.”
