Pollster Angus Reid says people are looking forward to a life that looks something like what it used to, before the word pandemic became common lingo. There are three things that Canadians are looking forward to the most: Being able to go about their day-to-day routine without worrying about the virus, being able to resume the hugs, pecks on the cheek and handshakes that come with physical contact, and international travel.
54 per cent of Saskatchewan residents are looking forward to doing regular things in the community without stress. 41 per cent look forward to traveling internationally. 39 per cent are most excited about physical contact with others. At the bottom of the list, seven percent are looking forward to going to parties or going to the movies or the theatre.
Residents in Saskatchewan appear most optimistic, with nearly one-quarter anticipating a return to normalcy in the spring or summer. Across Canada, the largest percentage, 28 per cent, think normal won’t come until close to the end of 2021.
