As of December 25th, retail services will need to reduce their capacity of customers and employees to 50 per cent and large retailers will need to reduce to 25 per cent capacity. Large retailers are defined as those having an area larger than 20,000 square feet. These measures were part of new restrictions that were announced mid-month.
On December 17th private gatherings became limited to immediate household members only. Outdoor gatherings were reduced to 10. The new measures along with all previous measures will remain in effect until at least January 15th. People living alone can meet with one household that has less than five people living in it. Co-parenting arrangements are allowed to continue.
On December 19th, casinos and bingo halls had to close. Personal services such as hair salons, massage therapy and tattoo studios switched to operating at half capacity which includes staff. Venues like conference halls, arenas, museums and theatres can still host events with up to 30 people. However guests have to be seated, and as a general rule, food and drink aren’t permitted.
