The CEO of the Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce sums up 2020 as a year of adaptation for businesses, while responding to all of the regulations around COVID-19.
Jason Aebig says COVID-19 has been extremely challenging for everyone and economically it has hit the retail and restaurant sectors hard but many businesses have responded incredibly well in record time in providing their products and services differently – online, curbside or by appointment. He is proud of their efforts to keep the economy moving and to serve all of us.
Aebig believes businesses will take what they have introduced and build on them in the future, even once the pandemic has passed. He notes that the community has rallied around supporting local businesses and he hopes that will continue in the new year.
In 2021, the Chamber will be focusing on recovery, communicating with government and key decision makers on what is needed to help businesses recover and get the economy moving again to get jobs flowing through Saskatoon.
