The Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority has declared an outbreak of COVID-19 in Stanley Mission.
The Authority says there have been an increasing number of confirmed cases linked to private family gatherings on December 25th and 31st.
A contact tracing investigation is underway. Public Health officials are advising those who were at these events in Stanley Mission during the specified dates to immediately self isolate if they have had or currently have symptoms of COVID-19 and call HealthLine 811 to arrange for testing.
Those who haven’t experienced symptoms should self isolate for 14 days from the date of last exposure.
Some of the more commonly reported symptoms include: new or worsening cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, temperature equal to or over 38°C, feeling feverish, chills, fatigue or weakness, muscle or body aches, new loss of smell or taste, headache, gastrointestinal symptoms.
