The proposed operating and capital budgets for the City of Prince Albert include a 6.6 per cent increase in taxes.
The Budget Committee is combing over the documents Wednesday and Thursday.
Prince Albert’s City Manager says the proposed budget goes beyond maintenance to improving roads, facilities and playgrounds.
Some of the suggested projects and city costs are $800,000 for the Rotary Club adventure park at Little Red River Park, $550,000 for pedestrian bridge replacements and just over $4.2-million for the paving program.
Once the Budget Committee has deliberated, the final recommendations will be approved by City Council.
The next Prince Albert Council meeting is January 25th.
