Even with pandemic numbers still high across the country,  and the recent furor over politicians flying to vacation hotspots it appears they aren’t alone. It appears that a large number of Canadians are still traveling to Hawaii.

This from statistics released by the State of Hawaii, which show in the last month from December 1st to January 9th, thousands of Canadian travelers made their way to the Pacific islands.

The data shows during that time 2,912 people flew out of Calgary’s International airport, over 2,100 (2171) from Vancouver and dozens more from Edmonton (16) and Lester B. Pearson in Toronto (22). West Jet saw 3,569 of the travelers, while Air Canada had 1653 during that time.

The statistics from Hawaii also show that over half of the total travelers , or 228,022 of 505,401 people in the last month indicated their reason from travel was for pleasure or vacation.  Just over 70% of total travelers were visitors to Hawaii.
