The ninth of ten people charged in the death of Tiki Laverdiere has been sentenced for kidnapping and confinement.
34 year-old Charles St. Savard of Edmonton, was sentenced to 14 months plus 20 days Monday in North Battleford court. With 9 months and 9 days served, St. Savard will serve two years less one day. He was arrested on July 13th last year, in relation to Laverdiere’s death and also charged with 1st degree murder, but that charge has been stayed.
The remains of Tiki Laverdiere were found on July 11th of 2019, and 10 people have been charged since that time. Mavis Takakenew and Brent Checkosis have already been sentenced as accessories after the fact of murder, while proceedings for the 7 others accused are ongoing.
