A majority of Canadians who responded to a CAA National poll believe dangerous driving has been on the rise since the pandemic began, even though there are fewer people on the road because some are working or attending school from home.
CAA Saskatchewan spokesperson, Christine Niemczyk reports that 56 per cent of respondents believe dangerous driving is on the rise, compared to the early days of the pandemic.
More than a third said they had seen an increase in speeding, while 32 per cent reported witnessing more aggressive driving and 30 per cent noticed more drivers using their cell phones.
The findings are based on a poll of over 1500 Canadians.
This past spring, the Saskatoon Police Service was hearing complaints of people street racing, with most of the activity on 8th Street and Spadina Crescent.
