SaskTel says, due to widespread power outages caused by last night’s [wed] storm, SaskTel is experiencing service outages in a number of communities. Some have limited services now, and it’s anticipated that more services may fail as back-up battery power fails.

Impacted areas as of 9:00 am, include:
in Beechy , Herschel, Plenty, and Dodsland – Home phone service landline is down.
Some Wireless sites around Saskatoon East and West Rural – Lucky Lake, Warman, Meacham, Danielson – or Diefenbaker Lake – are without service.
Moose Jaw, Weyburn, and Estevan – Some maxTV and internet services may be down.

At this point, there is no estimated time of return for these services and it is likely that they may not be restored until the power has been fully restored in these areas.

SaskTel is working to connect generators to network sites and to high priority wireless sites to ensure they continue to operate normally.
