Two people are in custody after a string of car thefts and break-and-enters this past weekend.

On Sunday, just after 8 a.m., Saskatoon RCMP received a report of three break-and-enters and an assault in the community of Grasswood.  Saskatoon Police, along with multiple RCMP detachments, were called out to assist.  Police report a mid-size SUV was stolen from the area and then seen entering Saskatoon.  Soon after an armed robbery involving a man and a woman with a knife was reported, where the stolen SUV was left behind and another car was stolen.  RCMP were able to locate that vehicle not long after in a back alley of Taylor Street and Victoria Avenue, at which point a canine unit tracked the suspects and found six more break-and-enters had occurred within a 5 block radius.  Police say both suspects were arrested in separate backyards in the 300 block of 5th Street East.

28 year-old John Tustin and a 25 year-old Tabatha Wyllier of Grande Prairie face multiple charges including Mischief, Aggravated Assault, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property, Committing an Indictable Offense and multiple counts of Break and Enter.  Tustin also faces additional charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and breach of court orders.
