Officers with the Regina Police Service learned about a potential buying and re-selling of restricted weapons in that city, which through investigation, led to a man believed to have recently bought restricted handguns.
On Tuesday, police report observing a meeting between this suspect and two other men.
The first suspect was later arrested at a home.
Because of the potential threat of firearms, the SWAT and Canine Units assisted the Crime Reduction Team and Patrol in the arrests.
The other two alleged suspects were found at a different location.
Search warrants were executed on the vehicles and the home at the second location and police say a large sum of cash and four 9mm handguns were recovered.
Three men, 33 year old Anthony Swanson, 29 year old Abdullahi Moalin and 21 year old Hamza Moalin are charged with weapons trafficking.
The two men in their twenties are also facing other firearms charges.
