Six weeks ago, 58 per cent of Canadians said they were confident in the federal government’s ability to circulate the COVID vaccine across the country. But, the bloom is off the rose; only 45 per cent hold that view now. Only 36 per cent think the feds have done a good job in securing sufficient doses. Pollster Angus Reid says, anxiety is rising over the country’s ability to meet its targets. Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe have criticized the Prime Minister for not pressing Pfizer hard enough to prioritize Canadian shipments. In Saskatchewan, only 23 per cent are confident in the federal government.
Only 51 per cent of Canadians are confident in their provincial governments to effectively prioritize access and organize delivery. That number rises to 53 per cent in Saskatchewan.
