The Petroleum Services Association of Canada has revised the number of wells drilled across Canada for 2021, increasing the number by 750. The total now stands at 3,350. An increase like that would normally be considered modest but, given the hit the industry has taken in the last year or so, it represents a 29 per cent increase over PSAC’s original forecast made last October. The Association says the updated forecast is based on a stronger commodity price outlook. Average crude oil prices are expected to be at $50.00 US per barrel. Natural gas prices are forecast at $2.60 Canadian per thousand cubic feet and the Canadian dollar is expected to averaged 79 cents US. For 2021, PSAC expects 111 more wells to be drilled in Saskatchewan, bringing the total here to 1,189.
