Two men have been arrested and charged following completion of a drug trafficking investigation by the Saskatoon Police Service’s Drug Unit in the early hours of Friday morning.
A 23-year-old man was taken into custody at about 2:45 a.m. at an apartment in the 2300 block of Hanover Avenue. With the help of the Tactical Support Unit, police seized multiple firearms, ammunition, a taser and brass knuckles…plus varying amounts of different drugs, drug paraphernalia and cash consistent with the trafficking of drugs.
A short time later, at about 3:40 a.m., a 57-year-old man was arrested in a suite at a hotel located on Highway 11 at Floral Road. In addition to seizing a Dodge Ram truck, police collected various amounts of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The 57-year-old man faces two charges under the Cannabis Act while the 23-year-old man is looking at 19 firearms and drug-related charges. A 19-year-old woman was also taken into custody with the 23-year-old man, but released without charges.
