The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit has charged a Regina man with two child pornography offences. It’s in relation to an investigation into accessing child pornography online through what police call a popular online social media application.
On Wednesday, members of the ICE Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Regina. Police allege finding child pornography at the location. Several electronic items were seized for further analysis.
A 50-year-old man has been charged with possessing and transmitting child porn.
He is to appear in Regina Provincial Court on June 30th.
The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of the Provincial Coordinator and investigators from Prince Albert Police Service, RCMP, Regina Police Service, and the Saskatoon Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
