The NDP is pressuring the Sask Party Government to come clean on its education survey. Last week, the government released a limited amount of information, focusing on what students, parents, and community members thought students need to be successful in school. Education Critic Carla Beck wants all the details from the survey. She says, “Forty per cent of teachers have considered leaving the profession, and 70 per cent of Education Assistants witness or experience violence every week or every day.” She says everyone is raising the alarm but the Sask. Party would prefer to sweep those concerns under the rug and pretend that everything is fine. Beck says 14 hundred teaches filled out the government survey but they were simply lumped in with others as “non-students,” when the limited results were released. The NDP says, the survey has been closed since May 10th and still, the Sask. Party government is withholding full disclosure.
