Six Saskatchewan centres broke cold temperature records on Sunday. Buffalo Narrows record of -40 was set on February 7th of 1962 and now the temperature to beat is -46.4. Collins Bay’s old record was -42.6 and now it’s -43.4. In Key Lake, the coldest temperature for February 7th was -46.5 and the new record is -48.7. Stony Rapids jumped a little over a degree from -46.1 to -47.6. Uranium City’s new record demolished the old record of -40 and now sits at -48.9. It also ties the all-time record low set on January 15th of 1974. Waskesiu’s old record of -38.2 was set in 2019 and now sits at -40.3.
Saskatoon’s coldest February 7th was -43.2 in 1994. On Sunday, the low was -41.4. The record to beat for February 8th in Saskatoon is -40.2.
