A 15-year-old male has been charged with second degree murder in relation to the death of 46-year-old Cameron Roy in Ile a la Crosse early Wednesday morning.
The youth and Cameron Roy were known to each other and, in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the 15-year-old male will not be named. At about 3 a.m. on February 10, R-C-M-P and E-M-S personnel were called to a residence on Elbow Crescent in Ile a la Crosse where witnesses were performing life-saving measures on Roy. However, he was declared deceased at the scene. The 15-year-old male was taken into custody a short time later. He will make his next court appearance on Tuesday, February 16 in Meadow Lake Provincial Court.
