A pair of 31-year-old adults have been arrested and charged in connection to a stabbing death on the Flying Dust First Nation back on Tuesday evening.
Conrad Joseph Jay Merasty of the Flying Dust First Nation has been charged with second degree murder in the death of a 43-year-old male at a residence on Deer Street on the Flying Dust First Nation. At about 9 p.m. on February 9, Meadow Lake R-C-M-P and local E-M-S found the man suffering from serious injuries at the residence and had him transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. In addition, Lucy Annelle Whitecap of Nipawin has been charged with second degree murder, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and breach of an undertaking in relation to the death of Kenneth Merasty of the Flying Dust First Nation. The Saskatchewan R-C-M-P Major Crime Unit North is continuing with the investigation. Both Whitecap and Merasty will next appear in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on March 8.
