A kick off to Family Day week and a special Valentine’s day edition of the Fireworks Festival is on this weekend, in a virtual way.
Shad Ali, President of the Saskatoon Fireworks Festival says people can watch 2 unique firework shows from the comfort of their own home. He says this families will be able to enjoy the entertainment and fireworks for free, adding people have been pretty disciplined over the past year, and deserve something to celebrate.
The show begins on Saturday at 5:00 p.m and includes musical guests Katelyn Lehner, Graham Dyck and Jay Semko of the Northern Pikes.
The two firework shows will take place at 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
There will be no access to the fireworks sites and access points will be supervised by security and police. Ali says they want this to be something positive for the community, so do not attempt to come down to the sight. He suggests you can book a hotel room with a view, head to your favorite restaurant or watch the show from the comfort of your own home.
